## Recovery that goes beyond the diagnosis

Asteera Singh is a Senior Physiotherapist & Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Specialist with over a decade of clinical experience across musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, neurological and sports rehabilitation. A South African physiotherapist who graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2014, she has built a career spanning hospital-based rehabilitation, private practice and high-performance sport, and has been practising in the UAE for the past five years.

At Kinesis Clinic in Dubai, Asteera combines hands-on clinical assessment and treatment with Clinical Pilates and targeted rehabilitation strategies. She works with patients recovering from injury or surgery, as well as active individuals who want to understand their bodies better and return to the activities that matter to them.

 ## A decade of experience across surgical care and sports performance

Throughout her career, Asteera has worked alongside orthopaedic and neurological specialists within hospital and private practice settings, managing patients across the full surgical cycle, from pre-operative preparation through to post-operative rehabilitation. Her caseload has included complex orthopaedic and neurological cases alongside the assessment and rehabilitation of recreational and professional athletes.

Prior to relocating to the UAE, Asteera established and managed her own sports and orthopaedic physiotherapy practice in South Africa while continuing to work within a hospital setting. Her experience with athletes spans rugby players, swimmers, sprinters, triathletes and mixed martial arts athletes, giving her a particular interest in the demands of high-level performance, injury prevention and the structured return to sport.

Her postgraduate training in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy, together with advanced education in pain, clinical Pilates and movement-based rehabilitation, has shaped an approach that integrates clinical reasoning, hands-on therapy and purposeful exercise prescription.

 ## An approach centred on the individual, not just the diagnosis

Asteera is particularly interested in understanding how the body moves, why movement becomes compromised, and how rehabilitation can restore not only function but confidence in movement. Depending on each patient’s needs, her treatment plans may combine manual therapy, dry needling, Clinical Pilates, movement retraining, education and progressive exercise.

Her core areas of expertise include:

 ### Orthopaedic & Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

Assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal pain and movement dysfunction, grounded in postgraduate Orthopaedic Manual Therapy and tailored to each patient’s cases, symptoms, lifestyle and goals.

 ### Pre- & Post-Operative Rehabilitation

Supporting patients across the surgical continuum, from preparing the body before surgery to structured, progressive rehabilitation afterwards, developed through years of work and experience alongside orthopaedic specialists in hospital settings.

 ### Sports Injury Rehabilitation & Return to Sport

Guiding recreational and professional athletes through individualised rehabilitation and a structured return to sport plan, with experience across rugby, swimming, sprinting, triathlon and mixed martial arts.

 ### Neurological Rehabilitation

Assessment and treatment for neurological and neuro-spinal cases, built on clinical experience working alongside neurological specialists in hospital and private practice.

 ### Dry Needling, Cupping & Advanced Taping

Integrating hands-on techniques into treatment where appropriate, to support pain management, tissue health and movement as part of a wider rehabilitation plan.

 ### Clinical Pilates & Strength Rehabilitation

As a BASI Pilates mentor, yoga teacher and Lagree instructor, Asteera brings Clinical Pilates into rehabilitation. Using the reformer and mat, she builds controlled, progressive movement into each plan, with the aim of developing strength that carries into everyday life and sport.

 ### Rehabilitation that builds knowledge as well as capacity

Asteera believes effective rehabilitation extends beyond the diagnosis and symptom management. Her clinical philosophy is grounded in education, movement and patient independence, helping people not only recover from injury but develop the knowledge and physical capacity to move well for the long term.

 ### Your path back to the activities that matter

At Kinesis Clinic, Asteera combines hands-on treatment with purposeful movement and clear patient education, so you understand what is driving the problem, how your body has adapted, and what it needs to move forward. Whether you are preparing for surgery, recovering from one, managing a persistent injury or working back towards sport, her goal is a plan built around you.

Restore Movement. Rebuild Capacity. Trust Your Body Again.
